1. Introduction

 

Government College for Women, Bawal, has continuously strived to provide quality higher education to girls of the region with a focus on academic excellence, holistic development, social responsibility, and empowerment of women. The academic session 2024–2025 was marked by effective implementation of academic reforms, active student participation in curricular and co-curricular activities, and commendable achievements in academics, sports, cultural, extension, and outreach programmes.

 

2. Student Strength and Admissions

 

During the academic session 2024–2025, a total of 556 students were admitted to various undergraduate programmes of the college. Admissions were conducted transparently as per the guidelines of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Haryana, and Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur.

3. Academic Performance and NEP 2020 Implementation

 

The academic session 2024–2025 marked the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for BA, BSc, and BCom First Year students. The college successfully adopted the multidisciplinary and student-centric approach envisaged under NEP 2020.

                  Introduction of Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC), and Value Added Courses (VAC)

                  Orientation of faculty members for effective NEP implementation

 

The academic performance of students under the Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur examination system remained satisfactory, with students showing keen interest in both core and skill-based courses.

 

4. Cultural Activities and Achievements

 

The college laid strong emphasis on cultural and national values through various activities conducted during the session.

 

National Festivals

                  The college actively participated in Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations at the Sub-Divisional Level, showcasing discipline, patriotism, and cultural pride.

 

Youth Festival Participation

                  Students participated in the University Level Youth Festival held at Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur in November 2024.

                  The participants displayed enthusiasm and talent in various cultural events, gaining exposure and confidence.

 

In-House Cultural Activities

 

Various cultural and talent-based programmes were organized, including:

Annual Athletic Meet

                  The Annual Athletic Meet of the college was organized in the month of January 2025.

                  A large number of students participated enthusiastically in various track and field events.

                  Prizes were distributed to winners and position holders.

                  Best Athlete (Girl) award was also conferred to encourage excellence in sports.

 

The sports activities promoted physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.

 

 

7. NSS Activities

 

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the college actively contributed to community service and nation-building activities.
